Established in 2008 Mirabilis Health Institute is a leading mental health training centre in the UK and Ireland.
With curriculum designed by Prof. Paul Miller, MD BCh BAO DMH MRCPsych FRSA, Paul uses storytelling and case study analysis to offer an engaging and practical way to learn.
Mirabilis offers EMDR Standard Training alongside Supervision, Masterclasses, and Specialty Training.
EMDR Standard Training

The 7-day Standard Accredited Training Course is delivered via Zoom with clinical supervision scheduled alongside the course. Our core training is broken up into two 3-day trainings, with 12 weeks between trainings to allow for practice and supervision.
In conjunction to the main training modules, trainees will receive 10 hours of supervision, case consultation and integration via small groups. These take place in scheduled sessions between training one and two and after training two. -
The course is designed and delivered by Professor Paul Miller and Adam Getty. This Standard Accredited EMDR Training meets the standards of EMDR Europe. Professor Miller is a Consultant Psychiatrist has over 25 years as an EMDR therapist; he is based in the Mirabilis Health Institute; is an EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer and EMDR Institute (USA) facilitator. He Chaired the training subcommittee of EMDR UK and Ireland Association and introduced EMDR therapy to Northern Ireland’s NHS. In 2011, he founded Mirabilis Health, a private clinic specialising in trauma-focused therapy. He is Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, School of Nursing with the Centre for Maternal, Fetal and Infant Research (MFIR) and is exploring the use of Low-Intensity EMDR and EMDR therapy in the perinatal period: he supervises PhD candidates within MFIR and is a Teaching Assistant with the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Queen’s University Belfast; he has an active teaching and research portfolio and is actively engaged in collaborative research between Ulster University, University of Worcester, and a number of other institutes internationally. A Founding Member of the Council of Scholars; an intellectual community of EMDR international thought-leaders, this group has been working together to produce material that will advance the field, establish the parameters of EMDR efficacy, and identify areas for future research.

EMDR Europe require EMDR Therapy Standard Training to include the completion of 52 hours of lectures, practical experience with a facilitator, and 10 hours of supervision.
The Training is delivered online interspersed with clinical supervision meetings as well as opportunities for practice.
We meet this criteria as follows:
Part 1 three days training (21 hours)
Part 2 half day supervision (4 hours)
Part 3 three days training (21 hours)
Part 4 full day supervision (7 hours)

EMDR Training with Mirabilis will satisfy the training requirements to enable graduates to seek professional accreditation as an EMDR practitioner.
To complete the course, you must use EMDR therapy with at least three clients in your clinical practice during the training.
After enough supervision from an accredited EMDR Europe Consultant (at least 20hrs supervision with an accredited EMDR consultant and covering at least 25 clients), you can apply to become an Accredited Practitioner.
As part of our program you will receive your first 10hrs of supervision included. You will need to continue a further 10hrs minimum supervision to be able to apply for accreditation with EMDR Europe.

EMDR is an advanced psychotherapy requiring a mental health clinical background.
You will need to provide evidence that you are accredited with one of the professional associations deemed acceptable by EMDR Europe. (see criteria)

The full course fee is £1,299.
A deposit of £250 is required to register, with the remaining balance due prior to starting your training.

Eligibility Criteria
EMDR is an advanced psychotherapy requiring a high level of skill.
A mental health clinical background is an essential prerequisite for the effective application of EMDR treatment.
All EMDR training providers will expect you to provide evidence that you are “Accredited” with one of the professional associations deemed acceptable by EMDR Europe and EMDR UK.
Accredited EMDR therapy training is strictly limited to the following:
Mental Health Professionals:
Clinical Psychologists (Registered with HCPC or Psychological Society Ireland)
Counselling Psychologists (Registered with HCPC)
Educational Psychologists (Registered with HCPC)
Forensic Psychologists (Registered with HCPC)
Psychiatrists (MRCPsych, SpR)
Registered Mental Health Nurses (NMC) and Registered Social Workers who:
- have mental health training, can recognise and assess common mental health problems and have experience of
working in a mental health setting; and
- have training and a minimum of two years’ experience of providing one-to-one psychotherapy, either as part of
their professional training or in addition to it; and
- have provided a reference from their clinical supervisor confirming the above.Counsellors/psychotherapists:
must hold accreditation by one of the following:
- Association of Christian Counsellors (Accredited Counsellor - AC)
BABCP, BACP, UKCP, COSCA, COSRT
- British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
- Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP)
- Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP)
- National Counselling Society Accredited Professional (MNCS Accred Prof) grade
- Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners (FDAP) who are NCAC accredited
Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP)All Arts Psychotherapists & Occupational Therapists should be:
(a) Registered with the HCPC
(b) Have mental health training, can recognise & assess common mental health problems and have experience of working
in a mental health setting.
(c) Have training and a minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing one-to-one psychotherapy, either as part of their
professional training or in addition to it; and
(d) Provide a reference from their clinical supervisor confirming the above.
Also:Clinical & Counselling Psychologists: in the final year of training with a letter of recommendation from their clinical
supervisor.General Practitioners: Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and trained in psychotherapy.
